Dubai-based Emirates updated its website on Wednesday to provide passengers from India, Nepal, Nigeria, Pakistan, Sri Lanka and Uganda with the latest travel requirements.

UAE residents

All passengers who hold a valid UAE residence visa, have been fully vaccinated in the UAE and hold an official vaccination certificate issued and approved by the relevant authorities of the UAE, can return to the UAE. At least 14 days must have passed since the last required dose of vaccination.

Transit passengers

The airline stated that transit passengers must hold a negative Covid19 PCR test certificate to be tested 72 hours or less before departure according to the requirements of the final destination.

UAE flights: 7 new exemptions explained

Exemption for unvaccinated passengers:

> Gold and silver visa holders and diplomats

> Healthcare workers, including doctors, nurses and technicians

> Education staff, including professors, teachers and students studying in the UAE

> Government Employees

> Exhibitors and Participants Sponsored by Expo 2020

As stranded foreigners are eager to book air tickets, air ticket prices have soared

All passengers must comply with the following regulations:

> Dubai visa holders must apply for pre-entry approval through the General Directorate of Residence and Aliens Affairs (GDRFA).

> Passengers must obtain a valid Covid-19 test certificate within 48 hours between sample collection and scheduled flight departure time. Only accept Covid-19 PCR test reports from accredited laboratories that publish QR codes associated with the original report.

> Passengers must complete the Covid19 quick test four hours before flight departure.

> Passengers must complete the Covid19 PCR test upon arrival in Dubai.

> UAE nationals are exempt from the above requirements, but they are required to undergo the Covid19 PCR test upon arrival in Dubai.
