Guidance for Indian passengers with only one name on their passport has been updated. Earlier this week, Air India Express said in a notification to travel agents that “UAE Immigration will not accept any passport holder with only one (word) in their surname or first name and passengers will be treated as INAD ” – a term for an unacceptable passenger.

The Indian Consulate General in Dubai released the revised guidelines in a social media post on Thursday.

>> If visa issued with multiple names: Passenger can mention father/surname in second page.

>> For passengers eligible for visa on arrival: Passengers can mention father/surname in the second page.
