Emirates goes digital, phases out paper boarding passes in Dubai

Checked baggage receipts are also emailed directly to passengers or available within the Emirates app.

This move will significantly reduce paper waste while providing a convenient and fast digital boarding experience for passengers departing Dubai. A statement from Emirates said it reduced the risk of lost or misplaced boarding passes, giving passengers peace of mind when traveling.

Mobile boarding passes can be used throughout your travels – just show your mobile boarding pass at Dubai Duty Free, security checks and when boarding the aircraft. It said Emirates agents and airport staff could simply scan the QR code on the mobile boarding pass and passengers would pass through the airport and enter the plane.

The Dubai-based airline noted that some passengers may still be required to print a physical boarding pass – such as those traveling with infants, unaccompanied minors, passengers requiring special assistance, passengers on onward flights with other airlines, and all Passengers on a flight to Dubai. us.

Emirates says millions of its passengers are already enjoying the convenience of digital travel.

In addition to convenient check-in and itinerary management, those using the Emirates app can also gain early access to digital menus and spend time compiling playlists of their favorite movies, TV shows and music playlists on ice, which they can download from their sync these playlists with your phone.
