Emirates launches special Lunar New Year offers

[ad_1]

Emirates celebrates Lunar New Year from 22 January to 5 February with curated menus, in-flight movies in Mandarin, Cantonese and Vietnamese and special duty-free shopping with EmiratesRED at Emirates Lounges in Dubai, Singapore and Bangkok

On January 22, the first day of the Chinese New Year, seven Emirates lounges in Dubai will serve breakfast in first and business class lounges, including the classic “Xiangfeng” rice rolls with dried shrimp and scallops.

For lunch and dinner, passengers can indulge in Cantonese-style duck buns with plum sauce, delicious poached shrimp and vegetable dumplings in vinegar sauce, or Chinese rainbow salad with smoked salmon, sesame and soybean dressing.

Desserts in the First Class lounge include a lightly sweet mango coconut cake and spice or black tea cake, while the Business Class lounge offers a tangy yuzu tart with green tea powder. Passengers can also walk over to the unique Emirates Vintage Ice Cream Truck for a limited-edition gourmet matcha green tea ice cream homemade by Emirates chefs.

In Singapore, passengers can enjoy Chinese steamed rice with chicken intestines in lotus leaves, the sticky rice that traditionally symbolizes family cohesion. Other entrees include fried prawns with green asparagus. Shrimp is pronounced “ha” in Cantonese, which echoes with laughter and symbolizes happiness and prosperity in the coming year.

Delicious desserts include a pineapple upside-down cake with mango pearls, and pineapple is considered one of the auspicious fruits in Chinese culture as “ong-lai” means “lucky come” in the Fujian Chinese dialect.

At the Emirates lounge in Bangkok, passengers will be enticed by steamed Chinese red snapper with celery and ginger sauce, assorted dim sum, siu mai prawns and ha khao prawn chicken.

All Emirates passengers are welcome to use the Emirates lounges; first and business class passengers and Skywards Silver, Gold and Platinum members have free access to all lounges. Additional passengers can experience the lounge, starting at $125, for up to four hours of amenities before departure.

On Emirates, passengers celebrating the Lunar New Year can explore a wide range of content during January and February, including a choice of up to 23 Mandarin and 14 Cantonese films, with English subtitles.

As gift-giving plays an important role in Chinese New Year blessings, Emirates passengers can take advantage of EmiratesRED’s special shopping offer and get $15 off any two fragrances from brands including Amouage, Givenchy, YSL, Roja parfums, Versace, Cartier, Hermès .

Passengers can also save up to 15% on two products from the same brand, including Cerruti watches, Benefit cosmetics, Elizabeth Arden beauty, Clogau jewelry and more. – trade arab news agency
