ABU DHABI, 23rd December, 2022 (WAM) — 42 Abu Dhabi, the UAE capital’s innovative and disruptive coding school offering a unique peer-to-peer approach to gamified learning, is celebrating its first anniversary.
The academy highlighted its remarkable achievements in empowering learners to shape Abu Dhabi’s digital future by making coding education accessible to people from all walks of life.
Since its opening in October 2021, 42 Abu Dhabi has enrolled 340 students, including 100 Emirati students. Flexibility is a key pillar of the 42 Abu Dhabi approach to learning and the school is open 24 hours a day, allowing students to take ownership of their own learning journey through a peer-to-peer model.
42 Abu Dhabi works with leading organizations and companies across industries and sectors to identify and develop opportunities that contribute to their success.
This year, 358 job and internship opportunities were offered to 42 Abu Dhabi students, including 109 sponsorships for UAE national students, thanks to the school’s successful partner network.
Dr. Ahmed Al Shoaibi, Acting Executive Director, Higher Education Sector, Abu Dhabi Department of Education and Knowledge (ADEK), said: “Education ecosystem and bringing the school’s unique learning approach to the emirate’s education ecosystem. Today, we mark a new milestone in making coding education accessible to people from all walks of life.”

42 Abu Dhabi students and staff attended the anniversary celebration.
During the event, Abu Dhabi 42 organized digital activities to engage attendees and foster interaction among students, including a dynamic vending game, digital cartoonist, 360-degree photo booth and scavenger hunt.
Students are encouraged to reflect the school’s pride and success by highlighting their favorite 42 aspects of Abu Dhabi on a dedicated wall, which also includes 45 curated quotes from their peers. This provided inspiration for event participants and enhanced the sense of belonging among Abu Dhabi’s 42 communities.
42 Abu Dhabi honors students who have gone the extra mile to develop their skills and achieve outstanding results over the past year, as well as outstanding staff. Additionally, the school honored the winners of the 42Art competition, which was set up ahead of the event to enable 42 students in Abu Dhabi to showcase their artistic talent and skills by creating and submitting digital artwork.
