Emirates News Agency – Abu Dhabi Aquatics Club launches Lifetime Swimming League 2023

ABU DHABI, 13th April, 2023 (WAM) — Abu Dhabi Aquatics Club has announced the start of the first round of the Abu Dhabi Life Swimming League 2023 organized in partnership with the Abu Dhabi Sports Council and the Emirates Swimming Federation. See the participation of 300 swimmers and coaches.

The Abu Dhabi Life Swim League is a multi-month series of events promoting swimming and water sports for all ages. The first competition will be held on the 14th for young swimmers aged 8 to 14. During the league, which will run until mid-December 2023, technical workshops will be held to develop coaches’ knowledge of the various water sports and accelerate their professional performance.

Humaid Al Hooti, ​​Chairman of Abu Dhabi Aquatics Club, said: “Our priority is to encourage the community to develop an interest in swimming and water sports and to adopt a healthier lifestyle. Aligned with the vision of the Centre, we take this opportunity to thank all our partners and organizers for their tremendous contribution to making this event a success.”

He continued, “Working with national and international stakeholders, we will provide a solid foundation that will enable us to develop a generation of aquatics champions in the UAE, enabling them to pursue their dreams and increase the UAE’s presence in regional and international swimming competitions.” influence.”

Abdullah Al-Wahaibi, Chairman of the Internal Committee of the UAE Swimming Federation, said: “The establishment of the Abu Dhabi Aquatics Club will usher in a new era of high-level swimming events and competitions organized by the club throughout the year. Events like this – opportunities for children and young people to compete and improve can be a huge motivator, so we’re looking forward to an exciting event.”

The Abu Dhabi Aquatic Club’s responsibilities include technical swimming, diving, water polo, high diving, open water swimming, fin swimming and rescue skills training. In addition to world-class training, the club aims to build a community of aquatics volunteers by providing participants with theoretical and practical training. It also works with the UAE Swimming Federation and various national clubs to develop and train referees and technical staff by facilitating knowledge exchange during sporting events and championships.
