Emirates News Agency – Abu Dhabi Awards launches first ‘Young Ambassadors’ programme

ABU DHABI, 14th September, 2022 (WAM) — Abu Dhabi Awards has launched the Abu Dhabi Awards Youth Ambassadors programme in partnership with the UAE Children’s Parliament and the Supreme Council for Motherhood and Childhood Children’s Advisory Committee.

Running its first edition, the programme aligns with the Abu Dhabi Awards’ core value of inclusivity, involving all members of the community in promoting good deeds.

The programme was launched at a special event last week at the Abu Dhabi Youth Centre, which included awareness sessions and training workshops to familiarise young ambassadors with the programme’s goals and values, encouraging them to serve as the Abu Dhabi Awards Junior advocates across the UAE.

The Abu Dhabi Awards were held under the patronage of His Highness President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan. The theme of the 11th edition, “Who Represents Your Goodness?”, aims to inspire the public to nominate those whose good deeds benefit the UAE community and embody the values ​​of the Abu Dhabi Awards, including commitment, selflessness, and inspiration.

Amal Al Ameri, member of the Abu Dhabi Awards Organizing Committee, said: “The launch of the Abu Dhabi Awards Youth Ambassadors programme marks an important milestone in our mission to activate good by engaging all members of our community, including children. Program, we hope to instill in future generations the values ​​of kindness and community service to create a brighter future for our country.

“A distinguishing factor of the Abu Dhabi Awards is that they are inclusive and open-ended. Anyone deemed to have made a positive contribution to the UAE community can be nominated for the award – regardless of age, nationality or occupation. We are committed to To champion inclusivity by providing resources for our youth ambassadors to represent the UAE’s Abu Dhabi Awards.”

Sheikh Zayed bin Nahyan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Member of the UAE Parliament for Children and Youth Ambassador of the Abu Dhabi Awards, said: “The Abu Dhabi Awards instill in our hearts a love of kindness , and inspires us to follow our late Founding Father Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan. I am proud to be one of the ambassadors of the Abu Dhabi Awards Youth Ambassadors programme, which launched its first edition this year and aims to engage children in activities , to encourage “our communities, including children, to nominate our unsung heroes. This programme allows us to play an active role in the Abu Dhabi Awards, which recognise our country’s inspiring heroes who have made long-term contributions to the UAE community. ”

Mathayel Al Saridi, President of the UAE Children’s Parliament and Youth Ambassador of the Abu Dhabi Awards, added: “I am proud to be the Young Ambassador of the Abu Dhabi Awards, which was held in the hands of Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Naha. Held under the patronage of His Royal Highness President Young. . Aiming to foster a generation with positive values, this program will have a significant impact on the participation of children in our community.

Dhaher Al Muhairi, Vice-President of the UAE Children’s Council and Youth Ambassador of the Abu Dhabi Awards, said: “The Abu Dhabi Awards are designed to elevate and honour people who embody kindness. This year, the 17-year-old award has received many inspirations throughout its lifespan. Nominated by the hearts and minds of individuals who have provided outstanding service to the UAE community and deserve recognition by His Highness President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan. I am proud to be the youngest of the Abu Dhabi Awards Ambassador, I promise to encourage my friends to submit their nominations.”

Following the training, the Youth Ambassadors will represent the Abu Dhabi Awards in their communities and will be responsible for raising awareness of the Awards and its mission, as well as encouraging their community members to nominate their unsung heroes whose good deeds benefit the UAE.
