ABU DHABI, 30th August, 2022 (WAM) — Abu Dhabi Electricity Distribution Company (ADDC), a subsidiary of Abu Dhabi National Energy Company (TAQA), has successfully completed its first primary electricity programme aimed at enabling the UAE Students gain an up-close look at the local utility sector and a better understanding of ADDC’s core business.
A graduation ceremony was held on August 26 for 60 students who successfully completed the program.
The students, aged between 15 and 18, were selected in a careful selection process taking into account their grades and interests.
Saeed Al-Suwaidi, Managing Director of Abu Dhabi Distribution, said: “Today’s fast-changing digital economy requires special skills to ensure the success and sustainability of companies and employees. The Junior Power Programme, through its website, gives UAE students an in-depth understanding of the utility sector in critical The ADDC sector conducts visits, workshops and special events designed to impart the skills they need to thrive in a digitally driven economy.”
The programme hosted students from several schools in the UAE, in line with ADDC’s commitment to contribute to the local community by inspiring the next generation of students to consider the utilities industry.
The program is divided into ten focus areas, including strategy, human capital, engineering, analytics, customer service and sustainability.
