ABU DHABI, 1st February, 2023 (WAM) — The Abu Dhabi Department of Justice, ADJD has completed 251,098 digitally notarized transactions in 2022, a qualitative leap in the field of digital litigation, avoiding more than 502,000 visits To ADJD Headquarters, by conducting all proceedings remotely, without the need for court users to be physically present at ADJD Headquarters.
In addition, as many as 1,244,621 documents were issued in digital format rather than printed as paper copies, and applicants can obtain digital copies at any time without applying for a true copy of the original.
Yousef Saeed Alabri, Undersecretary of the Abu Dhabi Department of Justice, highlighted ADJD’s keenness to provide pioneering and superior experience in completing judicial and legal transactions, and to benefit from technological advancements and smart and fast services powered by artificial intelligence as per the Deputy Prime Minister, President His Excellency Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Minister of Courts and Chairman of the Abu Dhabi Department of Justice, to keep pace with new developments and provide smart and innovative judicial and legal services.
The Justice Department continues to update its technology platform for digital notarization services so applications can be filed through the department’s website or through a notary’s application, and transactions can be completed remotely via video conferencing when interviews with applicants are required, Yousef Alabri said, without the need for an in-person court appearance.
He added that the Ministry of Justice has successfully launched an electronic connection and data exchange system with several relevant ministries and strategic partners, which facilitates various types of transactions in a simple and convenient manner, and in less time and with Less effort reduces the number of attachments required and supports the transition to digital rather than printed documents, in line with international trends and the UAE government’s commitment to protecting the environment.
