ABU DHABI, 13th September, 2022 (WAM) — The Abu Dhabi Department of Health (DoH) and the Institute for Health Improvement (IHI), a global non-profit organization headquartered in Boston, United States, have launched a strategic collaboration agreeing to advance and execute ongoing Programs to improve the quality of health care.
The collaboration aims to establish a solid framework and establish a regulatory foundation to achieve uniform quality healthcare outcomes in Abu Dhabi and globally.
The cooperation between the two parties is reflected in the memorandum of understanding signed by Deputy Minister of Health Dr Jamal Mohammed Al Kaabi and IHI President and CEO Dr Kedar Mate. The signing of the MoU was witnessed by Hind Al Zaabi, Executive Director of DoH Healthcare and Nana Twum-Danso, MD, MPH, FACPM, Senior Vice President, IHI.
The two organisations will collaborate on research and research related to improving the Abu Dhabi Healthcare Quality Index (Muashir) and the quality of healthcare services globally. Through this partnership, DoH seeks to advance the field of primary care to meet the medical needs of patients and achieve the highest level of care.
The MoU will focus on developing an integrated system to foster innovation and facilitate licensing, training, inspection and monitoring systems for healthcare providers to ensure the highest level of care across the emirate.
To enhance national capacity and provide learning opportunities for healthcare professionals, the two entities will conduct regular seminars, conferences and workshops for the public and private sectors in Abu Dhabi in accordance with international standards and global best practices.
