ABU DHABI, 14th December, 2022 (WAM) — The Abu Dhabi Public Health Center, ADPHC, has honored the outstanding food businesses and food suppliers participating in the ‘Sehhi’ 2022 program for their commitment to implementing the programme. Hard work and excellence, in the presence of Dr. Shereena Al Mazrouei, Program Director, Health Promotion and Public Health, ADPHC.
The honor is part of the 3rd Abu Dhabi Family Forum organized by the Family Development Foundation in partnership with ADPHC as part of HH Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak’s Excellence and Community Wisdom Programme, one of the Foundation’s key programs One, held at Hudayriat Island, Abu Dhabi, from December 13th to 18th, under the slogan “Quality of Family Life in the Fifties”,
Taking this opportunity, Dr Shereena Al Mazrouei, Program Director, Health Promotion and Public Health, ADPHC said, “We commend and acknowledge the role of these outstanding food businesses in spreading the principles of balanced and healthy food, which encourages and motivates all members due to the availability of healthy options and through The ‘Sehhi’ program provides easy access to these options and the society adopts a healthy lifestyle. This falls under our framework of continuous awareness raising to urge members of the community to follow a healthy lifestyle including eating healthy food.
Notably, ADPHC’s ‘Sehhi’ initiative, launched last August, aims to increase the accessibility of healthy food and promote nutritious food choices in Abu Dhabi. The scheme is divided into three sub-plans namely: “Sehhi for Healthy Food Menu”, “Sehhi for Calorie Display on Food Menu” and “Sehhi for Grocery and Healthy Supermarket”.
The program aims to encourage community members to make healthy food choices and improve eating habits in line with Abu Dhabi’s vision to ensure citizens live a long and healthy life by promoting preventive measures and reducing the risk of lifestyle diseases
