ABU DHABI, 25th October, 2022 (WAM) — The Abu Dhabi Public Health Centre (ADPHC) is the first in the region to protect the physical, psychological and social protection of the Abu Dhabi population through public awareness and preventive healthcare The dedicated centre for wellbeing, has signed three strategic memorandums of understanding as part of its ongoing efforts to promote and strengthen public health programmes.
During the International Society for Physical Activity and Health (ISPAH) Congress, ADPHC signed agreements with the United Arab Emirates University (UAEU), the National Institute of Health and Abu Dhabi University.
Matar Saeed Rashed Al Nuaimi, Director General of ADPHC, said: “The ADPHC is committed to working with regional organisations to support public health programmes and strengthen the emirate’s healthcare infrastructure. These agreements represent the Centre’s positioning of ADPHC as a leader in public health and research Taking our mission a step further, we will be able to apply our expertise and knowledge to routine practice while working to advance public health protection and promotion in all communities.”
The deal with UAEU is a five-year partnership aimed at fostering greater collaboration between the parties and identifying areas of mutual interest in training, learning and scientific research.
Both parties will hold regular meetings to identify and coordinate areas of cooperation in public health research, education and training to effectively strengthen ADPHC’s position as a public health research institution in the region.
The three-year agreement with the US-based NWI will support ADPHC’s research programs in the region, while promoting public health collaboration and ensuring the maintenance of international best practices and standards. It will also assist in education and training by collaborating on various activities related to capacity building, training and professional development in the field of public health. Another priority area will be adapting expertise to host a collaborative public health conference in Abu Dhabi to attract leading global experts to the UAE.
As part of the Memorandum of Understanding signed with Abu Dhabi University, ADPHC will work with the institution to raise awareness of public health services and enhance the knowledge and skills of university students related to their fields of study through training programmes overseen by ADPHC. It will aim to empower students and enhance their skills and knowledge of different public health programmes and initiatives.
In addition, it will encourage members of the local community to actively participate and follow a healthy lifestyle.
Through these regional and international collaborations, the Centre seeks to continue to work with the growing functions of the Abu Dhabi Public Health Centre, which will require increased collaboration with partners in different areas in the future.
