Alain, 27th October, 2022 (WAM) — With the generous patronage of His Excellency Sheikh Nahyan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Zayed Charity and Humanitarian Foundation (ZayedCHF) , the emirate of Abu Dhabi will host the 2022 Paralympic Shooting World Championships for the first time in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) from 3 to 17 November at the Al Ain Equestrian, Shooting and Golf Club in Al Ain.
The two-week event was organized and coordinated by the Zayed Steadfast Senior Organization (ZHO) in partnership with the International Paralympic Shooting Association and the International Paralympic Committee (IPC).
54 countries from all continents of the world have confirmed their participation in the event, with a total of 540 participants, including 259 athletes (214 men and 82 women) accompanied by their coaches, delegation leaders, professional and Qualified shooting judges from the UAE and abroad, in addition to shotgun shooting, participated in 41 men’s and women’s team and individual competitions in airsoft, musket, air rifle and musket (Siktoon) at various distances and positions. For the first time, this competition will see the recruitment of an official shooting competition sanctioned by the Blind Group.
The IPC has allocated 31 cards to directly qualify shooters who compete in various enlisted competitions to compete at the Paris 2024 Paralympic Games, adding to the significance of the competition and the enthusiasm of the international champions to participate. it’s game.
ZHO Secretary General Abdullah Abdul Ali Humaidan emphasized that this is the first time the competition is held in the Middle East and North Africa in the emirate of Abu Dhabi, demonstrating the confidence and responsibility of the International Paralympic Shooting Federation, as well as the emirate and the United Arab Emirates International Paralympic Committee presented an organization worthy of success in organizing and hosting many sporting events, including five World Paralympic Shooting Championships.
He stressed that the success of people of determination at regional and international sports forums is an outcome of interest to His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE, who is a person of determination in sports A major supporter, he proved that all Will Knights have the ability to walk the path of achievement by providing the success factors that all Will Knights lived up to expectations.
He noted that His Highness Sheikh Khalid bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Chairman of the ZHO Board of Directors, is closely following the steps being taken by all committees to build an organization that reflects the capabilities of the Emirate of Abu Dhabi and the UAE, and showcases our national cadre with international experience and competence. He also expressed his hope that the Chinese national team champion will achieve good results in the championship and qualify for the 2024 Paris Paralympic Games.
Jeslin Breeze, Chairman of the Technical Committee of the World Paralympic Shooting Championships, spoke to the governments and people of the UAE and the Emirate of Abu Dhabi and the ZHO for agreeing to organise and host the competition.
