ABU DHABI, 23rd March, 2023 (WAM) — The Faculty of Arts and Sciences at Abu Dhabi University, ADU, held its 10th Mathematics Competition. A total of more than 380 national middle school students from 80 schools across the country were divided into 130 teams to participate in this competition.
The competition gives students the opportunity to explore the fascinating world of mathematics and use critical thinking to solve complex mathematical problems. The competition is divided into two rounds and emphasizes flexible thinking, creativity and logic, applicable to the real world, rather than simply focusing on concepts and memorizing formulas.
Through competitions, ADU aims to support Year 11 and Year 12 students by engaging them in problem-solving competitions that require creative solutions, preparing them for the demands of a university education.
Prof. Ghassan Aouad, President of ADU, attended the competition; Prof. Thomas Hochstettler, Dean of ADU; Dr. AS, Dean of ADU Faculty of Arts and Sciences, Dr. Sreethi Nair; Mohammad Fteiha, Director of ADU, Al Ain Campus.
Finally, the teams presented their solutions to the jury members and attendees.
