[ad_1]

ABU DHABI, 12th June, 2023 (WAM) — The Center for Judicial Research, a division of the Abu Dhabi Department of Justice, ADJD, has made significant progress in scientific research, culminating in several noteworthy recommendations.

Among the recommendations is a proposed study on judicial insurance that would allow commercial companies and businessmen to purchase insurance against decisions made in commercial jurisdictions that could impose significant compensation or financial obligations affecting their business activities.

At a recent center board meeting chaired by ADJD Deputy Minister Yousef Saeed Alabri, various research topics were considered to strengthen the legislative and judicial framework. These efforts are in line with the Abu Dhabi Government’s strategic priorities to create an investment-friendly environment, promote foreign direct investment, and achieve an unparalleled level of competitiveness and entrepreneurship in the emirate.

Alabry emphasized that the Judicial Research Center is unswervingly committed to deepening scientific research and providing legal professionals with profound judicial and legal knowledge. This commitment is in line with the vision of His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of the Presidential Court and Chairman of the Abu Dhabi Department of Justice, who advocates for the development of Groundbreaking justice system on a global level.

Alabri further emphasized the importance of conducting a comprehensive study of judicial insurance, especially in light of the rapid transformation that is taking place in various sectors in Abu Dhabi. The exponential growth in business activity requires such insurance to play a key role in positively influencing business dynamics, promoting sustainable development and enhancing investor and business confidence in the legal and economic environment.

Additionally, the Center is preparing a study on the “Metaverse” as part of its ongoing efforts. This study aims to outline the legal framework and national legislation required to keep pace with the creation of this breakthrough technology. Metaverse proposes to push the boundaries of virtual reality, enabling users to interact within a three-dimensional digital realm built from virtual representations of people, places, and objects.

In its annual work programme, the Center for Judicial Studies also approved several studies, including the drafting of legislation related to the recovery of fines and regulations on construction works and contractors in Abu Dhabi.
