ABU DHABI, 8th June, 2023 (WAM) — As an ongoing initiative to promote and strategic partnerships, the Abu Dhabi Municipality has organized an interactive networking session within the city’s main building.
The city has recently pioneered partnerships with several academic institutions, including universities and colleges represented by the Strategic Planning and Performance Management Department, Knowledge and Innovation Management, Support and Support Services Department, and Municipal Services – Corporate Marketing.
The conference attracted many universities such as UAE University, Khalifa University, Zayed University, Mohamed bin Zayed University for the Humanities, New York University-Abu Dhabi, Sorbonne University-Abu Dhabi, Abu Dhabi University, etc. , colleges and educational institutions. Dhabi University, Higher Institute of Technology, Al Ain University of Science and Technology, Al-Khwarizmi International College, Liwa Institute of Technology, Abu Dhabi Academy for education and vocational training.
The main goal of the meeting is to strengthen the cooperation between the municipality and the university’s strategic partners. This is to enhance the skills and competencies of the staff by conducting workshops and courses in collaboration with participating academic institutions.
In addition, the forum seeks to provide participating college students with training opportunities in real-world projects in the city, thereby strengthening their skills before embarking on their professional journey.
It also hopes to identify outstanding students for recruiting within the City, enhance collaboration with academic institutions in fields relevant to the City’s mission, and assist its departments with technical and professional research conducted by participating academic entities.
The conference consisted of six interactive workshops organized with numerous participating universities and colleges. These workshops cover areas such as communication strategies, special tuition discounts offered by universities and colleges to municipal employees, methods for recruiting and attracting top graduates (including “Determination Graduates”), and the infrastructure for volunteering academic between institutions and municipalities.
Additional topics include developing a collaborative agenda for each entity’s activities, identifying avenues for actively contributing to municipal and academic forum activities, and discussions on sharing municipal programs with academic institutions to identify opportunities for mutual benefit.
