ABU DHABI, 16th December, 2022 (WAM) — The Abu Dhabi Department of Culture and Tourism, DCT ABU DHABI, has concluded the second edition of the 2022 Annual Progress Conference on Archeology in the UAE.
Held on Yas Island from 12-13 December, the conference will focus on recent archaeological discoveries, reveal the latest discoveries and research in the UAE, and promote the role of museums in preserving and disseminating the UAE’s archaeological heritage to the public.
A hands-on field trip also took place on 14 December, successfully presenting unique discoveries and extended scholarly learning at two archaeological sites in Ainhiri.
Organized by the Zayed National Museum, the conference supports DCT Abu Dhabi’s cultural mission to preserve and promote the emirate’s rich cultural and historical heritage.

The Advances in Archeology UAE 2022 conference provides an opportunity for professional archaeologists working in the UAE, the Gulf region and around the world to network, share ideas and research, and attend presentations by historians, architectural historians and conservationists.
