Emirates News Agency – Etihad Credit Bureau partners with Ministry of Justice to strengthen credit registry

ABU DHABI, 27th December, 2022 (WAM) — The Etihad Credit Bureau, AECB, has partnered with the Ministry of Justice to expand the scope of its credit registry to include statutory financial obligations imposed by the courts, with the aim of providing lenders with more Comprehensive information about companies and individuals.

The Department of Justice regulates and oversees the administrative and financial affairs of the nation’s federal court system. The Ministry of Justice also handles all other legal matters of the federal ministries and formulates and implements the main laws governing civil and commercial disputes.

Marwan Ahmad Lutfi, Chief Executive of the AECB, said: “The AECB’s credit register has now been extended to include court-imposed financial obligations, the result of a two-year effort by the bureau in close cooperation with the UAE Ministry of Justice. At the AECB, we trust this kind of data “The expansion of our credit reporting and analytics will deepen the scope of our credit reporting and provide a comprehensive view of an individual or company’s credit. Most importantly, it will enable lenders to better assess credit risk, such as a borrower’s ability to meet credit obligations or pay future payments.”
