Emirates News Agency – International Defense Conference 2023 to attract world-renowned leaders from defence, military industries

ABU DHABI, 10th February, 2023 (WAM) — The International Defense Conference 2023 will be held at the ADNOC Business Center in Abu Dhabi on 19th February with a large number of leaders, policy makers, ministers, senior officials and Speakers representing the defense industry from around the world.

Held under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the event will shed light on the rapid development of artificial intelligence and advanced technologies, and the importance of using these technologies to find solutions to challenges facing humanity. sex.

The theme of the conference is “Adapt, Explore, Transform: Reimagining Security, Society and Human Experience in the Age of Disruption”, bringing together thought leaders, policy makers, influencers, researchers and futurists to discuss and share information related to technological advancements and disruptive technologies.

The event will include a keynote address by Mohammed bin Ahmed Al Bowardi, Minister of State for Defense Affairs.

The event will consist of four panel discussions. The first symposium will be titled “Promises and Dangers – Social and Economic Implications and Risks of Widespread Adoption of New Technologies such as Artificial Intelligence, Neuro and Biotechnology, and Extended Reality”. Panelists will include: Omar Sultan Al Olama, UAE Minister of State for Artificial Intelligence, Digital Economy and Remote Work Applications; François-Régis BOULVERT Director, International Scientific Partnerships, Naval Group; Wesley Kremer, President, Raytheon Missiles and Defense; and Lockheed Martin Middle East General John W. Nicholson Jr., Chief Executive Officer.

The theme of the second panel was “Moving with the Times: Investigating and illuminating how the increasing adoption of advanced technology in the workplace is changing approaches to talent development and human capital management.” Panelists will include Minister Ahmed bin Abdullah Humaid Dr Belhoul Al Falasi, UAE Minister of Education; Robert Kachatryan, Minister of High Technology Industries, Armenia; Lieutenant General (retired) Sir Tom Beckett, Executive Director, Middle East, IISS; Hassan Al Hosani, Chief Executive Officer, Bayanat (G42) .

The third panel was titled “Technology at the Cutting Edge: Studying the Impact of Emerging Technologies on Modern Operations and the Future of Warfare.” Panelists will include: Rear Admiral Mubarak Saeed Ghafan Al Jabri, Vice-Chairman of the IDEX and NAVDEX Committee, Ministry of Defense Support and Defense Industry AUSEC, in addition to the Committee and its subcommittees in the UAE; Vice Admiral Brad Cooper , Dong Joon Yoo, Deputy Minister of Military Forces and Resources Management, Republic of Korea; Deputy General. The fourth panel is titled “The Next Frontier: Exploring Human Instincts, Exploring Dimensions Beyond the Current Terrestrial and Physical World and Expanding the Human Footprint.” Panelists will include Sarah bint Yousef Al Amiri, UAE Minister of State for Public Education and Future Technology; Stephen duMont, President of General Motors; Nikos Papatsas, Senior Partner of EFA Group.

The last IDC, held in 2021, brought together 24 international experts, over 400 live participants, and 2,400 virtual participants from 80 countries.
