ABU DHABI, 13th November, 2022 (WAM) — His Excellency Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed, Member of the Abu Dhabi Executive Council and Chairman of the Abu Dhabi Executive Office, has attended World Careers Abu Dhabi The opening ceremony of the Jiu-Jitsu Championship, which was held under the patronage of His Highness President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan.
HH Sheikh Khaled also presented medals to the top three winners in the youth category during the event.
The 14th edition of the event, organised by the UAE Jiu-Jitsu Federation, will take place on 19 November at the Jiu-Jitsu Arena in Zayed Sports City.
Over 5,000 participants from all over the world participated in the event covering multiple categories including youth, professional, master and pair jiu-jitsu.
Earlier this month, Abu Dhabi hosted the Jiu-Jitsu World Championships, which further cemented the emirate’s position as the global Jiu-Jitsu capital.
Sheikh Khalid was delivered by Abdul Monem Al Hashimi, President of the UAE Jiu-Jitsu Federation, Sheikh Zayed bin Nahyan bin Zayed Al Naha Yang, Sheikh Hamdan bin Sultan Al Nahyan, Sheikh Zayed bin Khalifa bin Sultan Al Nahyan, Abdullah bin Sultan Bin Awad Al was accompanied by Minister of Justice Nuaimi, Chairman of the Office of the Chairman of the Abu Dhabi Executive Council Dr Ahmed Mubarak Al Mazrouei, Chairman of the Ministry of Community Development Dr Mugheer Khamis Al Khaili, Director Dr Mohamed Rashed Al Hameli Director of Abu Dhabi Housing Authority , Deputy Finance Minister Younis Haji Al Kori and Abu Dhabi Sports Council Secretary General Alef Hamad Alwani.
Abdel Moneim Al Hashemi said: “The patronage of His Highness President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan is a badge of honour for athletes from the UAE and the rest of the world. The success of our athletes at the World Forum is that they receive His Highness supporting results.”
