ABU DHABI, 4th May, 2023 (WAM) — In the presence of His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President, Sheikh Khalij, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Chairman of Abu Dhabi Executive Council, Held under the patronage of His Highness De bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, attended the 20th Sheikh Khalifa Awards for Excellence (SKEA).
HH Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed honored 18 laureates who were recognized for achieving organizational excellence in various fields.
Organized by the Abu Dhabi Chamber of Commerce and Industry, this year’s SKEA, held at the Mandarin Oriental, Emirates Palace in Abu Dhabi, saw a more than 25% increase in participation compared to the previous cycle, held in 2021.
First held in 1999, the Sheikh Khalifa Excellence Award aims to enhance the competitiveness and performance of Abu Dhabi’s business ecosystem by further improving efficiency within the organization and developing the knowledge and skills of employees to achieve the best financial and operational results.
Members of the Abu Dhabi Executive Council, members of the SKEA High Council, members of the Abu Dhabi Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors, as well as ambassadors and senior officials were also present at the ceremony.
After a rigorous evaluation by a high-level committee of experts in governance and operational excellence against the highest international standards, the winning companies are categorized into Diamond, Gold and Silver categories.
Abdulla Mohamed Al Mazrui, Chairman of Abu Dhabi Chamber of Commerce and Industry, said: “The 20th Sheikh Khalifa Excellence Award (SKEA) has demonstrated the significant and growing impact of this initiative. SKEA is one of the Chamber’s most important initiatives, It establishes a comprehensive organizational development program that enhances the competitiveness of the Abu Dhabi and UAE business ecosystem.”
Saeed Abdul Jalil Al Faheem, Chairman of the SKEA Senior Committee, said: “The 20th cycle of SKEA has witnessed many major improvements, including updates to administrative processes, an advanced digital platform to manage the assessment process, and new categories such as Best Companies, Best Companies for Innovation, and Best Companies for Leadership and Strategy.
The initiative will continue to encourage organizations to improve their competitiveness and performance and help them adopt best practices in digital transformation, sustainability and innovation. “
The 2023 SKEA winners have been announced, with Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank taking first place in the diamond category in the financial sector with a score of 551-600. Etihad Rail won the Government Sector Gold Award with a score of 501-550, while Transguard Group, Al Dhafra Hospitals and Al Ansari Exchange also won Gold in their respective categories. Several companies received Silver Awards including AG Engineering, EFS Facilities Management, Al Masaood Automobiles, India Palace, Lulu Hypermarket Dubai, Al Watba National Insurance co., Petro Rabigh – Saudi Arabia, Hi Matrix Middle East FZCO, Al Jazeera International Catering LLC , Lin Scan Pipe Company, AG PCS Switchgear Manufacturing, AG Facilities Solutions and Tanzifco Emirates LLC.
