Emirates News Agency – Khalid bin Mohamed bin Zayed reviews achievements of Abu Dhabi Youth Council’s fifth cycle 2021-2023

ABU DHABI, 22nd March, 2023 (WAM) — His Highness Sheikh Khalid bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Member of the Abu Dhabi Executive Council and Chairman of the Abu Dhabi Executive Office Met with members of Abu Dhabi Youth Council 5th round (2021-2023).

His Highness was accompanied by Saif Saeed Al Ghobash, Secretary-General of the Abu Dhabi Executive Council.

During the meeting, Sheikh Khaled reviewed the main outcomes of the programs and initiatives launched by the fifth cycle of the Abu Dhabi Youth Council, which he discussed with members of the Youth Council who are implementing these projects with strategic partners.

He heard about the impact of a number of youth empowerment initiatives that are empowering Emirati youth to actively participate in the country’s development and lead the growth of the knowledge economy by harnessing youth capacities to work in high-priority areas.

Sheikh Khalid congratulated the members for their outstanding contribution to youth initiatives during their tenure and encouraged them to continue to support young people and share what they have learned to enrich public life and support younger generations in achieving their goals.

His Highness also welcomed and wished the members of the 6th cycle (2023-2025) the best of luck in furthering and sustaining the influential Youth Program. and use their skills.

During the meeting, His Excellency Sheikh Khalid bin Mohamed bin Zayed reiterated the UAE leadership’s commitment to make youth empowerment a top priority, adding that youth are the driving force behind the country’s future development, the Youth Council provided. Provides a platform to nurture a future-ready generation to use innovative and forward-looking solutions to meet future challenges and lead the national economy.

The 5th cycle of the Abu Dhabi Youth Council launched 22 initiatives supporting more than 20,000 beneficiaries of various age groups. In addition, seven new initiatives are currently being developed in collaboration with 28 partners representing public, private and third sector entities to ensure sustainable youth empowerment efforts continue.

During the last cycle, the Abu Dhabi Youth Council worked to strengthen its engagement with youth from diverse backgrounds, with a special focus on people of determination, low-income youth, prisoners in prisons and correctional institutions, job seekers, university students, artists and creatives, Among other things. This is achieved by ensuring youth representatives conduct field visits at local community centers (Majalis) and higher education institutions located in the Abu Dhabi, Al Ain and Al Dhafra regions, as well as organizing events and events that cater to youth interests.

Key youth empowerment initiatives launched by the Abu Dhabi Youth Council Cycle 5 include: a work readiness and employment support initiative developed in partnership with key private sector entities; the Youth Hour launched in partnership with the Abu Dhabi Council at the Presidential Court initiative; the Young Inventors Programme, launched in partnership with the Abu Dhabi Department of Economic Development; the Emergency and Crisis Management Ambassador Programme, implemented in conjunction with the Abu Dhabi Center for Emergency, Crisis and Disaster Management; and Himmat Shabab: People of Determination Inclusion Initiative , launched in partnership with the Zayed People of Determined Higher Organization.
