Emirates News Agency – Khalifa Fund backs two UAE businesses at ‘Make it in the Emirates Forum’

ABU DHABI, 2nd June, 2023 (WAM) — The Khalifa Enterprise Development Fund is supporting two Emirati businesses in the highly anticipated “Make it in the Emirates”, a key industrial event that brings together government entities, Industry leaders, financial institutions, SMEs and investors explore investment opportunities to enhance local content and enable sustainable manufacturing.

Khalifa Fund actively participated in the forum, presenting the booths of two prominent industrial players: Jaber AlKhyeli of Glass Tech Factory and Ayedh AlMansoori of Al Emaar Cement Products Factory.

The Khalifa Fund aims to support businesses through campaigns such as ‘Make it in the Emirates’ to foster entrepreneurship and foster sustainable economic growth in the country.

Alia Al Mazrouei, Chief Executive Officer, Khalifa Enterprise Development Fund, commented: “We are proud to support these outstanding Emirati businesses in the ‘Make it in the Emirates’ campaign.

“The forum has become a platform for businesses to discover the advantages of using the UAE as a regional hub, providing access to new markets and showcasing the latest sustainable and advanced technological developments, encouraging businesses to prioritize local products made in the UAE.

In addition to participating companies showcasing their innovative products, there will also be a signing ceremony between the Khalifa Fund and the Industrial Development Board (IDB), Abu Dhabi Department of Economic Development (ADDED), to develop Abu Dhabi’s industrial sector. The partnership allows small and medium enterprises (SMEs) to apply for the Smart Manufacturing Incentive Program (SMIP) through the Khalifa Fund Tamm service, simplifying the application process and providing the necessary support for their transition to adopting Industry 4.0 applications.

In this regard, Al Mazrouei said: “The launch of SMIP and the establishment of the Smart Manufacturing Competence Center in Abu Dhabi marks an important step on our path towards the field of smart manufacturing.

“By converting 30% of existing industrial SMEs to an Industry 4.0 approach over the next five years, we are increasing productivity, boosting technology adoption and enhancing Abu Dhabi’s global competitiveness”.

The Smart Manufacturing Incentive Program will drive growth and innovation in our local industry and contribute to the overall economic diversification of our emirate. Additionally, the establishment of the region’s first Smart Manufacturing Competence Center reinforces Abu Dhabi’s position as a leading hub for Industry 4.0. These pioneering initiatives complement Abu Dhabi’s efforts to shape a diverse, smart and sustainable economy that will thrive in the age of Industry 4.0. “

Arafat Al Yafei, Executive Director of the Industrial Development Board (IDB), said: “This innovative program will enable SMEs to contribute to the ambitious goals of the Abu Dhabi Industrial Strategy and strengthen the emirate as the most competitive industry in the region. Center status. Regions, with a special focus on human development, sustainability and the smart economy”.
