ABU DHABI, 27th December, 2022 (WAM) — Social Contribution Authority- Ma’an today celebrated the achievement of the sixth batch of the Journey of Generations (JOG) programme, with a final walk and ride in Yas Bay. Through JOG, Ma’an empowers volunteers to run and manage the project and brings people of all ages together through events at Abu Dhabi landmarks. A team of 10 volunteer leaders led the program and a total of 46 volunteers were recruited to donate their time to help improve the well-being of 45 seniors. They also help organize walks, tours, boat rides and National Day celebrations at Yas Mall, Hudairiyat Island, Jubail Mangrove Park, National Aquarium and Al Forsan International Resort, culminating in Yas Bay .
Dr Mohamed Al Dhaheri, Acting Executive Director, Community Engagement and Volunteering, said: “‘Generation Tour’ represents Ma’an’s efforts to drive real change by supporting our seniors and residents with the help of volunteers. JOG volunteers ensure that each session is followed by interactive and informative presentations by professional volunteers on a variety of topics related to the health and wellness of the attending seniors. Volunteers also received corporate social responsibility contributions to enhance the experience for seniors, including Helping Hands Hospitality with refreshments at every walk, Vox Cinema Lobby with snacks for laughter yoga classes, boat tours, Celebrating National Day Gold Bracelet Gifts and Alkhet Alabied Men’s Tailored Ghutra for Seniors and Supporting Camping Requisites Trading for Traditional Seating for National Day Celebrations.
Abeer Saleh Ali, another volunteer leader of the 6th JOG cohort, said: “Inclusion is vital to our community and we have a duty to bring all social groups together to support each other.
