Emirates News Agency – Mohamed bin Zayed University for the Humanities, Indonesian Ministry of Religious Affairs set up cultural center

ABU DHABI, 13th January, 2023 (WAM) — The Mohamed bin Zayed University for the Humanities and the Ministry of Religious Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to establish a cultural center in Solo, Central Java. , to strengthen bipartisan cultural and intellectual cooperation.

The planned center aims to provide educational, cultural and community services to local residents in the designated area, and contribute to the promotion of economic, investment and urban development opportunities in the community.

The MoU was signed by Dr. Khaled Al-Yabhouni Al Dhaheri, Rector of the Mohamed bin Zayed University for the Humanities, and Prof. Phil. Islamic Community Guidance Director-General Kamaruddin Amin represented the ministry.

The terms of the MoU specify the parties’ commitment to fulfill this important commitment, which will serve as a beacon for the intellectual and cultural renaissance of Indonesia.

Dr. Al Dhaheri emphasized that the university’s decision to commit to this joint project reflects its mission to promote the cultural and intellectual development of the humanities in Muslim societies and forms an integral part of its strategy to build partnerships with interested and like-minded individuals. Indonesian Ministry of Religious Affairs and other institutions have made significant contributions to the realization of this goal.

He added: “The Mohamed bin Zayed University for the Humanities is committed to contributing to the advancement of the cultural and intellectual capabilities of the Muslim community, fully aware that this will not only help pave the way for their future development, but also in Achieving a greater degree of understanding and cooperation worldwide given that the international community is witnessing many transformations in many aspects and areas of society.”

Dr. Al Dhaheri stated that the upcoming cultural center will bring about a great cultural and intellectual renaissance in Indonesia and further emphasized that the Mohamed bin Zayed University for the Humanities will spare no effort to achieve this goal by completing this important project in the agreement prescribed plan.
