ABU DHABI, 15th December, 2022 (WAM) — The 21st cycle of the ‘Clean Emirates’ voyage, which started from the Emirate of Ajman on December 5th, traversed all the emirates of the UAE, reaching its terminus in Abu Dhabi, December 15th. The campaign for this cycle is run in partnership with the Ministry of Community Development under the auspices of the Ministry of Climate Change and the Environment.
The campaign’s tour in Abu Dhabi saw the participation of 50,943 people who collected 19,965kg of rubbish and cleaned more than 10 square kilometers in Al Ghantoot, Musaffah and ICAD industrial areas, equipped with reusable cotton Gloves and biodegradable plastic bags. Round 21, which spanned all seven emirates, recorded 61,646 participants collecting 40,404 kg across a total area of ​​38.5 km².
Speaking at the opening of the Al Ghantoot base, Habiba Al Marashi, co-founder and chairman of EEG, said: “The ethos of the Emirates Environment Group is to instil an environmental social practice in all sectors of society to protect the environment and adopt sustainable habits.
