Emirates News Agency – Saif bin Zayed witnesses signing of agreement to launch national housing platform ‘Darak’

ABU DHABI, 30th May, 2023 (WAM) — Lieutenant General Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of the Interior, witnessed the launch and management of the National Housing Platform, “Darak”. Launched by the UAE government, the platform aims to promote family and community stability and improve the quality of life of UAE citizens, which is the cornerstone of sustainable development.

The agreement was signed by representatives of participants from government entities including the Ministry of Possibilities, Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure, Sheikh Zayed Housing Programme, MOI Employees “Fazaa” Social Solidarity Fund, Federal Youth Authority, Abu Dhabi Housing Authority, Mohammed bin Rashid Housing Agency, Sharjah Housing Scheme and Engineers Association.

During the ceremony, Sheikh Saif watched a video presentation highlighting the platform’s importance, core mission and strategic goals. The presence of various dignitaries added to the importance of the event.

‘Darak’ is an initiative of the Ministry of Possibilities in partnership with the Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure and housing departments across the country.

The main purpose of the platform is to provide citizens with adequate housing through the management of housing projects.

This approach helps reduce construction costs and eases the financial burden on UAE citizens. The Department of Energy and Infrastructure, in coordination with relevant federal and local housing programs, oversees the platform’s activities, which aim to overcome barriers and challenges faced by individuals wishing to build homes. Ultimately, the government’s goal is to create family and community stability while ensuring a decent life for its citizens.

The national housing platform “Darak” offers citizens discounts during the construction process. It offers discounts of up to 10% on general construction costs and up to 25% on furniture costs. Additionally, the platform serves as a gateway for citizens to engage with registered contractors and consultants to business and project opportunities. It facilitates contracting with the best professionals in the field, and its website provides financing facilities, as well as the latest construction-related news, offers and prices.

The “Darak” platform was developed and designed with the efforts of MOI Employees Social Solidarity Fund (Fazaa). The fund and its dedicated team of experts will be responsible for the operational and technical aspects of the platform.Their commitment ensures the continued provision of the best services to UAE citizens embarking on their home building journey
