ABU DHABI, 5th July, 2023 (WAM) — Saqr Ghobash, Speaker of the Federal National Council, FNC, has extended his condolences to President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Sheikh Mohamed bin His Highness Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Presidential Courts, And Members of the Supreme Council of the UAE and His Highness the Ruler, for their unlimited support for FNC’s activities.
He made the statement at the 14th meeting of the 17th Legislative Branch of the FNC in Abu Dhabi today in the presence of Abdul Rahman bin Al Rahman, Minister of Health and Prevention and Minister of State for FNC Affairs Abdul Rahman bin Mohammed Al Owais and Mohamed Hadi Al Hussaini, Minister of State for Financial Affairs.
During the meeting, the FNC passed four draft federal laws, namely the law on the adoption of a unified financial statement for the fiscal year ending December 31, 2022, the law on federal government procurement, and the law on regulating partnerships between federal governments. Federal public and private sectors and mental health law.
In his speech, Ghobash paid his respects, noting that all participants have full confidence in the UAE’s leadership and people’s ability to achieve the country’s goals.
“We have come together with a genuine determination to serve the nation and its citizens, and to be worthy of the trust of the leadership and the people we have the honor to represent. And the paths and behaviors where each of us can find ourselves in the future.”
He added that the FNC enacted 52 laws, discussed 19 key issues affecting the country and its citizens, and made 339 related recommendations.
FNC members discuss 171 parliamentary and regulatory issues in important areas affecting the nation’s citizens. The council also hosted 104 delegations and made 19 visits to friendly parliaments.
