Emirates News Agency – SeaWorld Yas Island celebrates opening with star-studded event

ABU DHABI, 22nd May, 2023 (WAM) — Yas Island Marine World Abu Dhabi, the region’s first marine life theme park, has officially opened to the public, offering exciting experiences for guests of all ages and immersive adventures.

The grand opening featured performances from Emirati superstar Hussain Al Jassmi and Scottish recording artist Red, accompanied by a blockbuster orchestra of 120 musicians.

The event celebrated the launch of the state-of-the-art marine life theme park, drawing crowds with a stunning sound and light show. The highly anticipated event was attended by hundreds of special guests and celebrities.

SeaWorld Abu Dhabi is the latest addition to the Yas Island theme park series, developed by Miral in partnership with SeaWorld Parks & Entertainment, a leading educational theme park and entertainment company focused on animal conservation.

The festivities began at One Sea Realm, where guests had exclusive first-hand access to SeaWorld Abu Dhabi’s spectacular show “One Sea”. This immersive production showcases the wonders of the ocean through multimedia presentations and cutting-edge spatial audio technology. The stage comes to life as young ocean lovers activate a mesmerizing sound and light display, with swirling vortices illuminating the One Ocean globe.

This symbolic moment, representing the connection between the sea and people, marks the official opening of SeaWorld Abu Dhabi. The audience then enjoyed a captivating performance by the orchestra and Red, culminating in a special program dedicated to SeaWorld Abu Dhabi, performed by Hussain Al Jassmi. As a breathtaking finale, 3D silver figures resembling marine animals adorn the stage, inviting guests to explore the newly unveiled park.

Sea World Abu Dhabi offers visitors an unforgettable experience, discovering the wonders of marine life and enjoying thrilling adventures.

During the event, Miral Chairman Mohamed Khalifa Al Mubarak joined SeaWorld Parks & Entertainment Chairman Scott Ross and Miral Group CEO Mohamed Abdalla Al Zaabi to welcome Dr. Mugheer Khamis Al Khaili, Chairman of the Community Development Department, among other government officials, as well as the United States, Ambassadors and chargé d’affaires ad interim of countries such as Japan, Singapore and Belgium in the UAE.

Spanning five indoor floors across 183,000 square meters, the park tells a captivating ocean story, taking visitors on a journey of discovery that seamlessly blends learning and fun across eight immersive domains. At SeaWorld Abu Dhabi, guests of all ages can enjoy unique family-friendly experiences, including up-close animal encounters and animal displays. The park also features inspiring entertainment, exciting rides and attractions, and unparalleled dining and shopping experiences.

SeaWorld Abu Dhabi on Yas Island offers guests a unique experience with its diverse ocean-themed areas. Each realm represents a different marine environment around the globe, immersing visitors in a world of exploration.

The One Ocean Kingdom serves as the centerpiece of the park, sharing the One Ocean story through immersive media. It also houses the Animal Care Center and serves as a gateway to the rest of the park.

Ocean Kingdom Abu Dhabi invites guests to explore the marine life of the Arabian Gulf, while Rocky Point showcases sea lions and harbor seals in a bay inspired by the Pacific Northwest.

Tropical Ocean Kingdom features vibrant rainforests and blue lagoons with dolphins, flamingos, fish and birds. In the MicroOcean realm, visitors can explore the microcosm like plankton and learn about their impact on marine ecosystems. Endless Ocean Kingdom features the world’s largest multi-species marine life aquarium, while Polar Ocean Kingdom offers icy seascapes and insight into polar species.

SeaWorld Abu Dhabi offers 10 animal encounters and over 100 animal experiences and displays where guests can learn about fascinating sea animals such as dolphins, sharks and turtles.

The park also features more than 15 interactive rides and experiences that take visitors on a unique journey beneath the waves. From the Manta Coaster in the Tropical Ocean realm to the Hypersphere 360o in the Arctic Ocean realm, there are attractions for all ages.

Entertainment with live characters and performances throughout the day. Dining options include 18 different experiences ranging from fast food to fine dining. Guests can also purchase souvenirs and merchandise at the park’s 13 retail stores.

SeaWorld Abu Dhabi has been awarded Global Humane certification, becoming the first facility in the MENA region to achieve this certification.

SeaWorld Abu Dhabi joins Yas Island’s portfolio of theme parks and attractions including Warner Bros. World Abu Dhabi, Ferrari World Abu Dhabi, Yas Waterworld and CLYMB Abu Dhabi, making Yas Island a popular leisure destination land.
