ABU DHABI, 23rd September, 2022 (WAM) — An exhibition of traditional Korean paintings titled “Korean Traditional Paintings by Promising Painters” has begun at the Sorbonne University Atrium in Abu Dhabi and will run until 28 October day.
The Korean Cultural Center (KCC) in the UAE and the Korea National University of Cultural Heritage in partnership with the Sorbonne University Abu Dhabi hosted the event.
The exhibition is one of KCC’s initiatives to promote cultural exchanges between South Korea and the UAE. There are 26 works on display, including 4 group works and 22 individual works.
According to the Korea National University of Cultural Heritage, most of the artworks brought to Abu Dhabi were painted for exhibitions, and the artists tried to incorporate some Arabic cultural elements into the paintings so that UAE audiences could easily grasp Korean traditional culture. Familiar art.
Artwork includes Danqing paintings, traditional colorful paints on wooden buildings such as temples and palaces; and the falcon, the emblematic bird of the UAE.
Nam Chan-woo, director of KCC, said, “I am delighted to exhibit the works of young Korean artists in Abu Dhabi. I think this exhibition not only introduces various traditional Korean paintings to Abu Dhabi, but is more meaningful. It serves two International students provide opportunities for mutual exchange.”
