WASHINGTON, 3rd June, 2023 (WAM) — His Highness Sheikh Tahnoun bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Ruler and National Security Advisor of Abu Dhabi, met with US National Security Council at the White House on Friday. Advisor, Jack Sullivan, reaffirmed the US-UAE strategic partnership for enduring relations and discussed a range of global and regional issues.
Both sides spoke highly of the various important partnerships between the two countries.
Sullivan welcomes the UAE’s leadership in the preparations for the UNFCCC’s 28th Conference of the Parties (COP28), which will be held next November at Expo Dubai, and its commitment to becoming a global leader in clean energy technology, including through the U.S. – UAE Partnership for Accelerated Clean Energy (PACE).
Both sides also emphasized the importance of building a trusted technology ecosystem and the potential of advanced technologies to improve human well-being in the Middle East and globally.
The U.S. national security adviser affirmed U.S. commitment to deter threats to the UAE and other U.S. partners, while also working diplomatically to de-escalate the conflict and reduce tensions in the region.
Additionally, Sheikh Tahnoun and Sullivan explore ways to deepen and expand the Abraham Accords, including through the I2U2 group (India, Israel, the United States, and the United Arab Emirates), and the shared goal of a more integrated, prosperous, and stable Middle East.
The two sides said they looked forward to staying in close contact on these and other issues.
