Emirates News Agency – Tawazun Council launches ‘Tawazun Partners Oasis’ platform

ABU DHABI, 24th February, 2023 (WAM) — Tawazun Council has announced the launch of the ‘Tawazun Partners’ Oasis’ platform for the registration of national and international defense and security companies.

The announcement was made during the International Defense Exhibition (IDEX 2023) and (NAVDEX 2023).

The platform allows international and local companies to register and update their information in a central database by creating a data management profile for each company.

The launch of the platform is part of the Council’s efforts to support the UAE’s strategy to maximize domestic value. This will provide a good basis for domestic and international companies to register their products, specifications, technologies, and future development plans and business strategies.

The platform will provide the Tawazun Council with insight into the latest innovations and technological solutions in the defense sector, as well as gather data on existing local technologies and capabilities to engage suppliers at an early stage for any future requirements. This will be an important repository for embedding a catalog of products and services by sector and business activity.

The launch of the platform is in line with the Tawazun Council’s efforts to strengthen the UAE’s position as a key player in R&D and technology by empowering companies in defense and related industries. It will also help create know-how and intellectual property (IP) in the UAE by leveraging Tawazun’s future procurement and R&D programmes.

Commenting on this, Ahmed Ali Al Harmoodi, Head of Acquisition Management at Tawazun Council said: “The launch of the platform for the first time is in line with the UAE’s position as a leader in the defense industry and a global innovation hub. The platform will provide an opportunity to benefit from corporate expertise , while highlighting the most innovative solutions, technologies and defense equipment, and will enhance the advancement of the defense and military industries.”

Through the platform, Tawazun Council will play an integral role in supporting local content and projects for domestic and international companies, identifying technological gaps and developing new projects to address them, he added.
