In 2016, the two countries established the Saudi-UAE Coordination Committee with the aim of establishing a common vision, strengthening and maintaining mutual ties and consolidating an integrated economic system.
The UAE and Saudi Arabia share the same vision and positions on various topics of mutual interest, as well as regional and Arab issues, due to their shared principles of support for regional and international security and peace.
Bilateral ties between the two countries have been strengthened through the efforts of the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan and the late King Faisal bin Abdul Aziz Al Saud. Their relationship under the rule of the late Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan and the late King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al Saud reached the level of comprehensive partnership.

The total value of non-oil trade between the two countries in the first half of 2022 was US$17.9 billion, compared with US$16.8 billion in the same period in 2021, and non-oil trade in the first half of this year increased by 6.6% compared with the same period in 2021.
