NEW YORK, 21st September, 2022 (WAM) — The UAE delegation held its second day of meetings on the sidelines of the 77th United Nations General Assembly.
Minister of State Khalifa Shaheen Almaral participated in the roundtable ministerial meeting on stability and cooperation in the Middle East. Al Marar also spoke at a joint ministerial meeting of the Gulf Cooperation Council and the United Kingdom and attended a ministerial closed-door roundtable on the Arab Peace Initiative’s approach to sustainable peace and security 20 years later.
Rem Bint Ibrahim Al Hashimi, Minister of State for International Cooperation, and Vuk Jeremić, former Minister of Foreign Affairs of Serbia, are on this part. She also met with the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Slovenia, Tania Fajon, and the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Nicaragua, Denis Ronaldo Moncada Colindres.
Additionally, Al Hashemy met with Melinda Gates, co-chair of the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, where they discussed the close partnership between the UAE and the Gates Foundation, and reviewed efforts in global health and enhanced A joint effort on the empowerment of women and girls.
Minister of State Sheikh Shakhboot bin Nahyan Al Nahyan met with the President of the Republic of Seychelles, Wavel Ramkalawan, to discuss bilateral relations, especially in the areas of trade, tourism and investment. Al Nahyan also met with the President of the Republic of Gabon, Ali Bongo Ondimba, to discuss strengthening bilateral relations and continued coordination in the Council.
The Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Central African Republic, Sheikh Shakbut bin Nahyan, met with officials including President Mohamed Bazum. Dr. AS Morisanda Kuyat, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Guinea; Aissata Tall Hall, Minister of Foreign Affairs; Lejeune Mbella Mbella, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Cameroon; Anadiv Hati, Special Representative of the Secretary-General and Director of the United Nations Office for West Africa and the Sahel Er attended the meeting.
Minister of State Ahmed bin Ali Sayyag attended the Ministerial Meeting of the Group of Friends of the Global Development Initiative hosted by the Permanent Mission of the People’s Republic of China to the United Nations. Al Sayegh also attended an I2U2 group meeting comprising the governments of India, Israel, UAE and the US.
Sultan Shamsi, Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation for International Development, participated in a discussion titled “The Road to G20 and Beyond: Raising Money for People and Planet” during UN Climate Week in New York.
