ABU DHABI, 13th April, 2023 (WAM) — Jamal bin Saif Al Jarwan, Secretary-General of the UAE International Investors Council, UAEIIC, said that the UAE and Egypt have a time-honored and deep-rooted relationship and expressed appreciation for economic and investment cooperation The relationship between the two countries has developed in an all-round way.
He added that the strong economic and investment ties between the two countries underscored the close relationship between the two leaders.
Al Jarwan highlighted that the UAE leads the Arab region in terms of investment in Egypt, underscoring the two friendly countries’ shared desire to increase the value of the UAE’s investments, which totaled US$28 billion by the end of the first quarter of 2023, compared to Under the same period in 2020, it will increase to 20 billion US dollars, an increase of 40%.
He further added that the two countries also plan to increase this figure to US$35 billion in the next decade for tourism, education, logistics, food industry, clean and renewable energy, aviation, pharmaceuticals and transportation. He noted that the Egyptian market has more than 3,000 Emirati companies operating in telecommunications, construction, smart cities, retail, oil and gas, ports, agriculture, hospitality and services.
