Emirates News Agency – UAE participates in 29th meeting of Arab States Mineral Resources Sector Advisory Council in Rabat

ABU DHABI, 10th March, 2023 (WAM) — The Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure represented the UAE at the 29th meeting of the Arab States Mineral Resources Sector Advisory Council. The conference will be held virtually from 7-9 March 2023 at the headquarters of the Arab Industrial Development, Standardization and Mining Organization in Rabat, Morocco.

The meeting was attended by Khalid Al Hosani, director general of the Ministry’s Geology and Mineral Resources Administration and member of the committee, and Ali Qassim, director general of the Fujairah Natural Resources Corporation, as well as several officials from the mineral resources sector in the region.

The organization’s Director General, Adel Al Saqr, opened the meeting with a speech, highlighting the organization’s efforts and key role in promoting the development of the Arab mining industry. The committee discussed several key issues, including follow-up to the recommendations of the 28th meeting, the agenda for the Consultative Meeting of Arab Ministers Responsible for Mineral Resources, presentations on the mining sectors of the UAE and Morocco, and updates to the Industry and Mining Industry Products Platform.

In addition, the committee discussed several technical issues, including agricultural mineral resources, geological heritage, holding a seminar on mining investment in the region, and preparations for the eighth Fujairah International Mining Forum.
