ABU DHABI, 26th May, 2023 (WAM) — Mohammed bin Hadi Al Husseini, Minister of Finance, met Magdalena Žeckows, Minister of Finance of the Republic of Poland, at the headquarters of the Ministry of Finance in Abu Dhabi. Card and his accompanying delegation.
The meeting aimed to discuss current economic developments and future prospects, as well as ways to strengthen financial and economic cooperation between the UAE and Poland.
Al Hussaini underscored the importance of the meeting as an important opportunity to further strengthen bilateral relations between the UAE and the Republic of Poland in the fields of economy, finance and investment.
He said, “The UAE is keen to consolidate economic and financial ties and partnerships with the Republic of Poland and expand areas of cooperation to include key areas of mutual interest. Our cooperation will help boost our economic development and strengthen our Bilateral relations.”
The meeting included the signing ceremony of the UAE-Poland joint statement aimed at consolidating cooperation between the two countries and exchanging knowledge, experience and best practices in the field of tax policy.
These practices include digital reporting requirements, big data analytics, machine learning, means to support research and innovation, and the deployment of new technologies such as artificial intelligence (AI) in the public sector.
The meeting also included a presentation on UAE Federal Government Bonds and a review of investment prospects in the Republic of Poland.
The UAE is one of Poland’s largest trading partners in the region, and the non-oil intra-trade volume between the two countries will be approximately AED3 billion in the first half of 2022, a year-on-year increase of 22% in 2021.
In addition, the non-oil intra-trade volume between the two countries will be approximately AED 5.3 billion in 2021, an increase of 12% compared to 2020.
The meeting was attended by Younis Haji Al Khoori, UAE Deputy Minister of Finance; Hamad Al Zaabi, Head of the Office of the Minister of State, Ministry of Finance; Thuraya Al Hashemi, Director General, International Taxation Division, Ministry of Finance; and Joanna Declercq Zelechowska, Advisor to the Ministry of Finance.
The Polish Finance Minister was accompanied by the delegation of Paweł Siwek, Head of the International Cooperation Department of the Ministry of Finance; Jacek Buda, Chargé d’affaires ad interim of the Republic of Poland; and Bartosz Andrzejewski, Senior Specialist of the Polish Ministry of Finance.
