ABU DHABI, 5th May, 2023 (WAM) — His Excellency Lieutenant General Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of the Interior, said that the unification of the UAE Armed Forces is a milestone in the country’s history. A crucial and decisive step, as it symbolizes the brotherhood and solidarity that underpin national unity.

In a statement to National Shield magazine marking the 47th Unification Day of the Armed Forces, Sheikh Saif addressed President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan and his deputies, members of His Highness’ Supreme Council and the Ruler of the UAE. Greetings and congratulations.

The Minister of Home Affairs stated that the decisions taken by the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan and his founding leaders on 6 May 1976 were critical to the economic and social growth of the country and contributed to the Strengthen cooperation and integration between the seven emirates and maintain the country’s achievements, security and stability in the face of challenges.

Lieutenant General Sheikh Saif bin Zayed emphasized that the era of the late Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed was marked by successive challenges and successes, which provided the leadership of His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan. paving the way for a new historical era in which the UAE embarks on a qualitative phase of unprecedented unity and determination to elevate the state and sustain progress, beyond the phase of securing borders, to contribute effectively to humanitarian action and international cooperation to ensure global peace and security.

“We are now proud of the modern technology and the size of the military industry of an advanced country, which in turn has produced an efficient national cadre capable of protecting the country, making the UAE a unifying force in the regional and international arena,” he added.

“On this occasion, we pay tribute to the families of our martyrs and we assure them that their sacrifices will forever be etched in the nation’s history. As a symbol of national unity, our armed forces will remain true to the honorable values ​​that built the UAE,” Sheikh Saif bin Zayed concluded.
