Abu Dhabi: Ahead of World Chocolate Day on July 7, Dubai-based airline Emirates has announced that it serves more than 40 million chocolates a year.
Emirates selects and offers a range of delicious artisanal chocolates in all classes of travel to 140 destinations around the world as part of its signature food and beverage service, sweetening the travel experience with the world’s favorite dessert.
In 2022, Emirates Airline Services
- 35 million chocolate treats served in economy class
- Premium Economy Class offers more than 160,000 chocolates
- Business class and first class offer 4 million pairs of chocolates.
Emirates works with leading chocolate brands around the world, including Bateel, Coco Jalila, Forrey & Galland, Godiva, Valrhona, Butlers, Canonica, Neuhaus, Pacari and Hotel Chocolat.
Chocolate brands are chosen for a variety of reasons, including taste, texture, brand recognition, sustainability, and even “Instagram appeal.”
Passengers in all classes can satisfy their chocolate cravings with a variety of desserts and hot chocolate on the menu. Popular options include first-class melted chocolate cake and milk chocolate mousse for kids.
Chocolate chip cookies are served as snacks on long-haul flights, and chocolate lollipops are offered to children during festivities.
In the A380 in-flight lounge, passengers can help themselves to vegan and non-vegan options such as chocolate chips, brownies and chocolate mini treats.
