As the school holiday is expected to usher in a busy travel period next week, Emirates has issued a warning to passengers travelling through Dubai International Airport (DXB) this weekend.
The airline expects 190,000 Passengers departing and arriving through Terminal 3 in the next two days. Passengers were told to allow extra time during the journey, arrive four hours before departure and depart early to prevent any potential traffic delays.
The peak travel day will be Friday, October 15. Emirates revealed that many passengers have chosen early flights.The peak period will last until Thursday, October 28th because more than 430,000 Passengers will arrive in Dubai on Emirates flights and spend their holidays at Expo 2020.
Airlines encourage passengers to check in online 48 hours before flight departure, but you can also check in at the counter 24 to 6 hours before flight departure. If you are a UAE resident, please don’t forget that you can use your UAE ID at Smart Gates.
Passengers are also encouraged to use the Dubai Metro to and from the airport as the easiest and direct way to travel. You can bring two pieces of checked luggage on board.
Remind customers to check the latest travel requirements and immigration rules of the booked destination to ensure that documents are quickly verified during check-in. The boarding gate is open 90 minutes before departure, boarding starts 45 minutes before departure of each flight, and closes 20 minutes before departure.
