We got a chance to interview Alaa Al Rantisi, the Co-Founder & Managing Director of Advanced Media Trading LLC. With wide expertise in the broadcasting industry, Alaa has been developing exceptional solutions for his clients.
His company is one of the largest suppliers of broadcast, professional video and photography equipment and accessories in the Middle East. The company is headquartered in the UAE but also has a presence in North Africa and the Middle East.

How did you start your entrepreneurship journey?
With my course of study and passion for media and television equipment, I have always been fond of the technical aspects of equipment, the crucial role it plays in producing important works in television production and cinema, the quality, the rounding of angles that convey the story, and because the equipment is the eye that allows you to capture the moment in film and television.
What do you believe is the most crucial part of continuing business seamlessly?
A clearly defined plan is the most important factor in ensuring successful company continuity. Key systems and processes should be identified, backup procedures should be developed and tested often, and a communication plan should be in place.
How would you describe yourself?
I’m a businessman and technical engineer. I enjoy working with new technologies and coming up with creative solutions to problems. I also enjoy spending time with my family and friends.
Do employees’ energy and enthusiasm have a hand in business success? How do you plan to motivate your team to go the extra mile?
The vitality and passion of employees are crucial to success. They are a company’s lifeblood; without them, it would be difficult to compete. Business owners must inspire their staff members to like their work and provide them with opportunities to advance and pick up new skills that will be useful in their current and future positions.
Employees must be managed based on their strengths and shortcomings to maintain an effective management style. Managers should be open-minded and approachable and pay attention to the opinions and concerns of their workers. To help their workers reach their maximum potential, they should support their skill development and offer regular coaching and training.
How would you describe your leadership style?
I favour a practical approach. I enjoy working side by side with my team to observe their progress and determine how I may be of assistance. I always make sure to bring my team along when I’m out in the field meeting with potential customers so they can experience the thrill of the transaction I’m working on and understand how it’s done so they can take up the act in the future. Teaching by example and providing needed support when it is overwhelming, assuring all team members are up to date with recent trends and well trained in their respective fields.
Did you face any challenges during your career span? If so, how were you able to overcome them?
The content industry went through difficult stages several years ago, specifically since 2014. The old generation was sticking to traditional TV channels associated with satellite broadcasting and fixed showtimes, while subsequent generations were behind their phones, preferring content available on demand, which at that time was still random and linked to illegal piracy services, which led to the loss of traditional content providers, such as local satellite broadcasting stations, for a large share of the digital advertising market, and thus the return of this industry in the Middle East was damaged in favour of global sites like YouTube & google & Facebook, later and after the emergence and development of providing content services on demand such as (Shahid from MBC), and the rise of influencers and content makers in The Arab region to take the leading role, the industry returned to its glory as a regional force and a local engine for the advertising market, which reflected positively on the boom in sales of equipment and tools necessary for this industry
Are you adapting to digital transformation? How is it helping your business?
Governments, private sector organizations, and most people who spend the majority of their waking hours online must adapt to the digital transformation that has been ongoing for a long time.
