Entertainment Community Fund to Celebrate Chita Rivera’s 90th Birthday with Broadway Concert to the Stars
And All Jazz: A Celebration of the Legendary Chita Rivera will be performed at the Shubert Theatre.
And All Jazz: A Celebration of Legends Chita Riveraa one-night-only benefit concert celebrating Chita Rivera’s 90th birthday, will be held at the Shubert Theater on Broadway on February 20 at 7:30 p.m.
Star-studded event will feature Tony winners laura benanti, Nathan, Brian Stokes Mitchell, babe newellsand Leslie Ughams also Jason Danielly, George Dvorsky, andy carrOrfi, Mary Beth Pell, John Riddleand becky wolfe.
The artists will be supported by the American Pop Orchestra, conducted by Luke Frazier, with dance music by Lloyd Calbraith.
“Where does one even begin when celebrating the legendary Chita Rivera? We are so grateful for Chita’s support and dedication to the Fund over the years. I can’t wait to join her many friends and colleagues on stage for an unforgettable Nights of song, dance and stories,” said Mitchell, president of the Entertainment Community Fund.
Rivera added, “Celebrating my birthday while contributing to the Entertainment Community Fund is a dream come true. I’m so honored to support their important work and I hope you’ll join me!”
Rivera’s career Goodbye birdie, skating rink (Tony Award), chicago jerry girl kiss of the spider woman (Tony Award), and the original Broadway cast Guys and Dolls, Kangkang, Seventh Heaven, and Mr wonderful and tour Born Yesterday; Rose Tattoo; Call Me Lady; Threepenny Opera; Sweet Charity; Kiss Me Kate; Zorba; and Ok, Ok With Rockettes. The triple threat was awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom by President Barack Obama in 2009. She is also a recipient of a Kennedy Center Honor and in 2018 received the Tony Theater Special Award for Lifetime Achievement.
Proceeds will support the Entertainment Community Fund’s dancer resources and dancer career transition programs. The evening is executive produced by Nouveau Productions.
