ABS-CBN Books has partnered with Beebly, a gamified electronic knowledge hub, to bring its best-selling books to mobile devices. Developed by Filipino-Singapore company Big Crunch Digital, Beebly is an e-reader and e-book store that sells casual books and educational reading materials. CCP Arthouse Cinema Screening
CCP Arthouse Cinema to Screen National Artist Fernando Poe Jr. sea of centipedes (1976) July 8 at 2pm at Tanghalang Manuel Conde (Chinese Communist Party Audiovisual Room).There will also be consecutive screenings of Nadjoua Bansil’s films Boch: Son of the Waves (2012) with Emmanuel de la Cruz Gabon (2007) Commemorating Eid al-Adha (Feast of Sacrifice) at 4pm on the same day. The screening of films aimed at revisiting historical works is a collaboration with the Philippine Film Development Council, the Philippine Film Archives and the Association of Philippine Film Archivers.
Steve Aoki Summer Dance
Two-time Grammy-nominated artist and producer Steve Aoki and Swedish producer KAAZE have teamed up on a new track “Whole Again,” with frontman John Martin known for his collaborations with the Swedish Mafia and Martin Garrix. This marks the first time Aoki and KAAZE have collaborated. “Whole Again”, released July 1, is the latest single from Aoki’s upcoming full-length album challenger, will be released on September 16. “Whole Again” is available on Spotify and other music platforms.
MCAD’s War Documentary
Historical documentary about the life and work of the famous 20th– Artists of the Century and how they used their work to socially critique the horrors of war will be screened for free on Wednesdays in July. Curated by the Museum of Contemporary Art and Design (MCAD) at the College of Saint-Bénil de De La Salle, the selection showcases through film the truth-sharing and painstaking memories of visual masters as they encapsulate the perspectives and narratives of battle through their work .The upcoming movie is George Grosz: The Enemy of the State (1987) July 6, Otto Dix: The Painter in the Eyes of the World (1989) July 13, Chagall (2006) July 20, and The Art of Henry Moore (2005) July 27.
