After signing a landmark multi-year agreement with Amadeus, Etihad Airways, the national airline of the UAE, will begin a major digital transformation.
As part of the transaction, Etihad Airways will implement the complete Amadeus Altéa PSS suite, including online booking, revenue management and sales, data management and passenger service solutions. These technology products will be tailored for Etihad in the next few years and will improve the experience of guests, employees, travel agencies, Etihad frequent flyer members and corporate customers.
Etihad guests will see new web and mobile channels powered by the Amadeus Digital Experience suite, providing the simplest user experience possible for buying tickets and managing reservations. Advanced retail capabilities will be collaboratively developed using machine learning to provide customers with customized products and personalize their travel experience.
In order to modernize its retail capabilities across sales channels, Etihad also signed a contract with Amadeus Altéa NDC (New Distribution Capability) and will cooperate with Amadeus to distribute personalized travel offers to customers. Etihad Airways will provide Amadeus travel sellers with its full range of NDC discounts, allowing agents to more transparently understand the characteristics of Etihad Airways’ award-winning products and the auxiliary equipment that can be purchased.
In addition, the airline will implement the Altéa Departure Control customer management component of the suite to provide guests with real-time and personalized reminders of offers, services and flight changes. The system will provide a higher level of service customization and provide guests with a faster and simpler check-in process, which is more important than ever in travel reconstruction.
