Etihad Airways announces new flight to Lisbon

The UAE’s national carrier, Etihad Airways, is expanding its European network this summer with the launch of a new direct service between Abu Dhabi and Lisbon, which will take effect on July 2.

The airline will connect Abu Dhabi with the Portuguese capital on time for the summer holidays, with three weekly flights scheduled to operate on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Sundays.

“We are delighted to launch flights to Portugal for the first time and offer our passengers a convenient travel option to one of our most popular summer destinations in 2023,” said Antonio Neves, Chief Executive Officer of Etihad Airways ( Antonoaldo Neves said.

“As one of the oldest cities in Western Europe, the coastal city of Lisbon is an excellent entry point to explore the rest of the country, with its perfect beaches, historic castles, great nightlife and welcoming people. Our new direct flight route Trade and tourism links between the UAE and Portugal will be strengthened, and we thank the Portuguese authorities for their support in establishing our new air route.”

Summer flights to Malaga and Mykonos
This summer, Etihad will also return to Malaga on Spain’s Costa del Sol and the popular Greek island of Mykonos.

Effective 18 June 2023, Etihad Airways will fly to Malaga twice a week on Wednesdays and Sundays. Sitting on a wide bay with stunning views of the Mediterranean Sea, Malaga is one of Spain’s most visited coastal cities, known for its miles of sandy beaches, culture and cuisine.

Travelers can also look forward to Etihad Airways launching weekly and Friday services to the island of Mykonos, nestled in the deep blue waters of the Aegean Sea, from 16 June 2023. With world-class beaches, restaurants and entertainment, the island is one of the hottest summer destinations in Europe, in addition to plenty of opportunities to explore ancient Greek history.

With the addition of new routes to Lisbon, Malaga and Mykonos, Etihad Airways will offer travelers almost 160 weekly flights to 21 European destinations this summer, with available seats 20% increase over 2022. trade arab news agency
