Etihad Airways plans to expand its flight network in India by adding services to Ahmedabad, Chennai, Cochin and Delhi starting early next year.
The Gulf carrier also announced on Thursday that it plans to start a daily service from Abu Dhabi to Kolkata from March 26, 2023, offering a total of seven weekly direct flights to the City of Joy.
The flights will be operated by Airbus A320 aircraft, offering eight business class seats and 150 economy class seats, according to a press release.
“While re-establishing air links CalcuttaEtihad to boost its network with additional services Ahmedabad (making it 2 flights per day) and Chennai (twice a day),” an Etihad Airways spokesperson told PTI.

Additionally, Kochi will see an additional six flights per week, starting March 26, 2023, bringing it to 13 flights per week.
Additional daily services will also begin delhi and Mumbai From April 24 next year.
The spokesman said the re-launch of flights to Kolkata and increased frequency on other routes will significantly increase Etihad Airways’ footprint in India from 77 to 118 weekly flights.
“Our return to Kolkata will also coincide with our twice-daily flights to New York, providing better access between India and the US via Abu Dhabi, and our guests can take advantage of our US pre-clearance facilities seamlessly. Arriving in every state,” Martin Drew, Etihad Airways’ senior vice president of global sales and cargo, said in a press release.
