Etihad Airways launches flights to Johannesburg, Cape Town and Zanzibar

[ad_1]

Etihad Airways today announced the provision of three new quarantine-free destinations for the upcoming winter. In November of this year, the airline will start flying to Johannesburg and Cape Town in South Africa, as well as the beautiful island of Zanzibar in the Indian Ocean. The new features of the Etihad Airways network mean that the national airline of the UAE will operate in 70 destinations in 47 countries.

Etihad Airways has launched fare promotions to Johannesburg, Cape Town and Zanzibar, valid until midnight on October 6, 2021. On a first-come, first-served basis, guests can enjoy round-trip fares starting from Dh995 in economy class and Dh3,995 in business class.

Tony Douglas, CEO of Etihad Group, Said: “We are proud to launch Etihad’s newest destinations in Africa this winter, and we believe our guests will find them all incredible tourist attractions.

“Johannesburg is an important route on our network, providing an important connection to and from Southern Africa. On the southern coast, Cape Town is a breathtaking place in the world, offering something for the most discerning traveller. Likewise, the beautiful mulberry Zibar Island will complement our network with Maldives and Seychelles, providing more choices for leisure travelers who want to enjoy the magnificent Indian Ocean.

“We are also very happy to provide connectivity services for travelers from both countries to visit our hometown of UAE in winter. With the opening of the world’s greatest exhibition, Expo 2020, now is the best time to visit Abu Dhabi and the UAE.”

Etihad Airways will launch flights to Johannesburg, South Africa’s largest city, on November 25. At the same time, Etihad Airways will start operations in the charming coastal city of Cape Town. These two destinations will operate 3 flights every Monday, Thursday and Saturday. The route will be operated by Etihad’s flagship and most sustainable aircraft, the Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner, which has 28 business studios, 78 economy class seats and 184 economy class seats.

The new service to Zanzibar will start operating on November 26, providing the UAE residents with an ideal winter vacation. The route will also provide convenient connections for guests travelling from Europe and North America and transiting through Abu Dhabi. Regular flights will be operated on the airline’s Airbus A320 aircraft on Tuesday, Friday and Sunday, providing 8 business seats and 150 economy seats.

Passengers flying on Etihad Airways can fly with peace of mind thanks to the Etihad Health Plan, which includes free COVID-19 insurance, which is valid until March 31, 2022 and is applicable to all passengers. The airline’s innovative flight verification service also simplifies the process of verifying travel documents before travel. Passengers with Verified to Fly can verify their documents before arriving at the airport, assuring them that they have met all basic government and airline travel requirements before heading to the airport.

Etihad Airways is the first airline in the world to fully vaccinate its crew. The airline also requires 100% of passengers to undergo a negative PCR test before boarding to protect the on-board environment, which is now recognized as one of the best environments in the world. Therefore, Etihad was awarded the Diamond Class title in the first APEX health and safety audit supported by SimpliFlying in January 2021.
