Etihad Engineering wins Virgin Australia’s Boeing 737 heavy maintenance contract

Etihad Engineering is one of the world’s leading aircraft maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) service providers, headquartered in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, has received heavy maintenance from Virgin Australia for its Boeing 737 fleet contract. The scope of the contract covers the extensive maintenance and modification of more than 30 nose-to-tail aircraft for the largest airline fleet under the Virgin brand.

The contract was announced during the Dubai Airshow, which is one of the most popular airshows in the world, with airlines, MROs, suppliers, original equipment manufacturers, regulators, lessors and industry experts all participating . Etihad Engineering will showcase its comprehensive aircraft maintenance and engineering solutions at booth 1110 at the show from November 14 to 18, 2021.

Abdul Khaliq Saeed, Chief Executive Officer of Etihad Engineering, said: “We are delighted to welcome another distinguished customer from Australia to our factory in Abu Dhabi. With the reopening of the Australian border and the resumption of international flights, we are all ready to support the Virgin Australia team to ensure that its Boeing 737 fleet continues to take off in the best condition to meet the expected increase in passenger demand.”

And maintain the highest standards.”

Etihad Engineering Corporation has been enhancing its comprehensive capabilities on major commercial Boeing and Airbus platforms including A350 and A320neo, and is collaborating with regional and global industry leaders to strengthen its presence in Europe and Asia beyond the Middle East , Africa and Australia’s global customer footprint and Latin America.

The state-of-the-art facility of Etihad Engineering Company is located in Abu Dhabi, adjacent to Abu Dhabi International Airport, covering an area of ​​more than 500,000 square meters, of which 140,000 square meters are dedicated to aircraft parking and protection. The hangar of the facility covers an area of ​​approximately 66,000 square meters, including 10,000 square meters of aircraft painting facilities. Over the years, the company has successfully completed complex maintenance projects for airlines around the world.
