Etihad Airways, the national airline of the United Arab Emirates, will fly five times a week to Osaka, Japan from 1 October, linking one of the world’s most culturally vibrant cities to the already extensive Etihad Airways network .
“We are delighted to launch our first flight to Osaka,” said Etihad Airways CEO Antonoaldo Neves. “As one of the most cosmopolitan cities in the world, I know visitors will love exploring its heritage and experiencing the hospitality that Osaka is famous for.
“Similarly, the new route opens Abu Dhabi to visitors from Osaka, and we look forward to welcoming guests to our vibrant home and giving them access to our growing global network.”
The opening of this route will support the growing trade and tourism links between the two countries and will add to Etihad’s existing Tokyo services by providing another exciting gateway to the Land of the Rising Sun.
Known as “Japan’s Kitchen,” Osaka has a world-class food scene, with Michelin-starred restaurants and eclectic eateries serving takoyaki (octopus balls), okonomiyaki (savory pancakes) and sushi.
Beyond food, visitors to Osaka can step back in time and experience the samurai era at Osaka Castle, visit the vibrant Dotonbori district with its neon-lit streets and countless entertainment options, or indulge in some shopping at one of the many shopping venues Therapy shopping districts are scattered throughout the city.
Etihad Airways will fly a state-of-the-art Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner on the new route, offering passengers the airline’s renowned service, dining and inflight entertainment experience. – trade arab news agency
