Event boosts UAE-China trade ties

The UAE China Tire and Auto Parts Expo 2022 opened at the Sharjah Expo Center on Thursday to strengthen the growing trade and investment relationship between the two countries.

Wu Yi, Counselor of the Economic and Commercial Office of the Chinese Consulate General in Dubai, Abdallah Sultan Al Owais, President of the Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Guo Minghui, Chief Economic and Trade Representative of West Asia and Africa, and Saif Mohammed Al Madfa, CEO of the Sharjah World Expo Center attended the inauguration ceremony. Al Owais said: “Hosting this event in Sharjah reflects the strong commercial relationship between the UAE and China, which is a unique model of cooperation. China is the UAE’s first non-oil trading partner. Oil trade exceeded US$61 billion, an increase of 28.5% over 2020. Meanwhile, China accounted for 12% of the UAE’s non-oil trade in 2021, in addition to an 18.5% share. The country’s total imports to the world and 4% of its non-oil exports %.”

The show aims to turn the annual event into a top destination for automotive service brands, buyers and dealers in the region, while showcasing the latest Chinese innovations among the automotive world’s brightest minds, featuring collaborations and Development of economic and trade exchange opportunities.

Saif Mohammed Al Midfa, CEO of Sharjah Expo Centre, said: “The UAE has one of the highest vehicle densities in the world and the demand for vehicle customization and upgrades is increasing, so the UAE automotive aftermarket is booming.
